Video Transcript for Review of Patriot Hitches Hitch Adapters - Adjustable Hitch Adapter 2 Inch Receiver - PH38NR

Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this Patriot Hitches adjustable drop hitch adapter. Now this drop hitch receiver adapter has been designed by a US military veteran to slide into your two-inch trailer hitch receiver, and give you a rise or a drop to match the height of your particular application. You're just going to move this receiver up or down this adjustable shank, and secure it at the chosen height with the included pins and clips. So let me go ahead and give you a brief demonstration of that.

So I'm just gonna go ahead and remove the clips and the pins, and then if you notice, the receiver's just going to slide up and down that shank, and then you're just going to set where you want it. I'm gonna line up the holes here at this particular drop, and then replace the clips. So as you can see, this is gonna be pretty easy to get that height adjustment at the back of your truck. So I don't think you're gonna be struggling with getting that adjustment that you're looking for. And so this has a maximum gross towing weight of 10,000 pounds, and a maximum tongue weight of 1000 pounds.

And this is gonna give you a maximum drop or rise of about 11 inches. And the height adjustment is going to be in one and a half inch increments. The two-inch receiver is gonna let you use a ball mount, a pintle hook, or other hitch-mounted accessory. And if you notice here, this does have a great feature here that I don't see on a lot of other hitches is this built-in anti-rattle bolts that you see right here. Those are gonna help reduce vibration and noise.

You're just going to adjust them. It does include like an Allen wrench or a hex wrench, that wrench is included with this, to tighten those down to get rid of that vibration and noise. So you've got one here, then you got one here. And so that's a great touch that this provides. The heavy duty steel construction is gonna be great for towing heavy loads, and the finish itself is textured as a textured black powder code finish.

That's going to do a great job of resisting the elements, standing up against rust and corrosion. And just to give you some overall measurements that might prove helpful for you, looking at the overall length here, we're sitting about 11 and a quarter inches long, then the overall height, about 13 to three-quarters inches tall. We do have a few other measurements listed on this product page in the spec section if you're looking for some measurements that I did not cover with you today. So you are going to get four five-eighths of an inch hitch pins and clips. And if you notice, they are colored to match the finish of this adapter. So it's that same textured finish. So you we inchesre gonna get four of these for securing your accessories, adapter and the shank. A hitch lock does come separately.
